Something I'm doing for a class, but my kids helped me set it up, so I included them.

Observations on The Big Picture
It occurs to me that as I design course work for the fishing fleet, composed of individuals ranging in ages, locations and "technology" abilities, I'll need to be straight-forward about the difficulties of working on line and provide framework for participating.
I agree and this is something distance instructors struggle with all the time. At UAS, we are talking about creating "learning objects" that all instructors can use to help students deal with the demands of technologies used in distance education. For example, most of us put together "how to" sheets on things like how to upload a document or attach a document to an email. Why aren't we sharing these kinds of tools? Shouldn't there be a place instructors could go and select from a library of learning objects. There are more general libraries of such tools but no repository of these kinds of tool specific to UAS. Some of us are pushing.
